VBS - Search for a network interface with a specific description and rename the network connection name

Hi, I'v been looking every where I could to find a VBS script that search every network card on a Windows 7 Ent x64 SP1 for a specific description, "Microsoft Loopback Interface". Then, when it has found it, it then renames the network connection with a new name, "Microsoft Loopback Interface" for example. I already found a few examples on how to do the search part but I'm not able to rename the network connection. So I sure like to get some examples on how to do it properly.

Thanks in advance for the help!

  • Hi jagadeish, that's exactly what I have been using so far. My problem is how can I search my network cards for a specific "Description" and then change the name of the network connection. For example, how can I search for my network card which has the description "Intel(R) 82578DM ..." and then change the name from "Local Area Network" to "new name"? I sure love to get an example!
