Using Ghost 8.0 Console

Situation: Running Ghost 8 Enterprise edition on Windows 2003 Server.
Installed the ghost boot partition on the client machine. Installed
the client services for windows XP. Created a 3RD partition on the
client HD (1=Ghost, 2=Windows, 3=stores the *.gho file).

Problem: How do I use the Ghost Console to reimage the client's 2nd
partition using the *.gho file on the 3rd partition? Please sent
pictures if possible.

Tried: I viewed I think every artical on the web and in the pdf files
included. I have been successful in imaging from the server to the
clients with the image on the server, but I world like to increase
the imaging time by storing the image locally on the client system
but still maintain the control of imaging from the ghost console

In the console Image definition (Configuration Resources, Images), you need to check "Images is located on client machine". This then allows you to define the location of the image locally, either by drive letter or volume label.

See the Ghost Implementation Guide pdf for more info (p 101)

I tried that in the past, but recieved error code 667. Currently, I'm tring the same process, but instead of the 3rd partition using a 2nd hd. (Not a prefered idea). Have you tried the original process?

Yes, works for me - nor sure what your problem might be. Probably best to contact Symantec support.
