Upgrading K1000 virtual systems appliance

Hi, wanted to know what is the method to upgrade the K1000 virtual systems appliance we have running under VmWare? Do I need to download the OVF  or just the bin file to update manually? If its the OVF then is there a document that can be followed? We are running 5.5. Thanks

You would get the kbin file for the upgrade and apply it to your K1000 either manually or use the automatic process.  Here is a link that shows the upgrade path:  https://support.software.dell.com/k1000-systems-management-appliance/kb/140635

Thanks for replying jknox.....in the instructions the download server link points to a kbin file and not a OVF I am assuming you need the OVF only if we are setting it up for the first time correct?

  • Yes, that's correct. An OVF would only be necessary on first setup or if you wanted to completely rebuild your K1000. - jknox 9 years ago
