Upgrade Microsoft office 2010 to Office 2013

When I try to upgrade Microsoft office from 2010 to 2013, it doesn’t happen clean upgrade and few of its components are left behind (Microsoft Office tools & Microsoft SharePoint Workspace 2010). Also I verified and all the upgrade code of Office 2010 is present in Office 2013 installer (Upgrade table).

Using OCT (Office customization tool) I created MSP, selected one of the option to remove pervious version office if present and landed into same issue during upgrade functionality test. I tried Google and couldn’t configure out much about Office 2013 upgrade.

Do anyone have done office 2013 upgrade? if so can help getting right parameter in config.xml / custom.msp

following parameters I'm using for installation in config.xml file

<Configuration Product="ProPlus">

            <Display Level="none" CompletionNotice="no" SuppressModal="yes" AcceptEula="yes" />

            <Logging Type="standard" Path="%temp%" Template="ProjectPro2013.txt" />

            <INSTALLLOCATION Value="%programfiles%\Microsoft Office" />

            <Setting Id="SETUP_REBOOT" Value="Never" />

            <Setting Id="REBOOT" Value="ReallySuppress"/>

</Configuration>

Did you try uninstalling Office 2010 first then installing Office 2013... Was that working fine?

Why are you creating log file in the name of ProjectPro2013.txt?

  • Uninstalling office 2010 and Installing Office 2013 works fine. Only issue the upgrade. Also I just randomly choose some log file name. - Ganesh14 11 years ago

when I install the office 2013 , it gives some choice to keep office 2010, delete office 2010 , So I think delete the office 2010 is upgrade to office 2013 , but  the safer way is keep both office 2010 and office 2013 on your computer, when you install the office 2013 , you can choose to keep the office 2010, so you can keep all your documents in case, and after a while if everything is ok, you can delete the office 2010, and you can also buy a cheap office 2013 key on www.getsoftwarekey.com , it is cheap and working on my laptop , recommend

Hi,
Any solution to this?  I have facing the same things using MS OCT:

Dispaly level: None
Suppress modal checked
No Cancel checked

It uninstalls Office 2010 for most part, but leaves Sharepoint WorkSpace.  Now I have 2 folders, MS office 2010 (with Sharepoint WorkSapce 2010) and MS office 2013 (whole suite).  Any solution?

i have done a upgrade install of 2010 to 2013, but i didnt get the issues you are having, although i used the Office 2013 customisation wizzard under setup.exe /admin to create a .msp file for the setup.exe file to execute during install

  • Same problem here
    Apparantly SharePoint Workspace is installed by default with Office 2010 SP1 (not RTM) means that the default product list for Office 2010 does contain it
    I tried to specify it in the XML :
    <Setting Id="REMOVEPREVIOUS" Value="ACCESSFiles,EXCELFiles,GrooveFiles,OneNoteFiles,OUTLOOKFiles,PPTFiles,PubPrimary,WORDFiles,XDOCSFiles,SHAREDFiles,TOOLSFiles" />

    but apparantly "GrooveFiles" is not enough, & the OCT doesn't show SharePoint Workspace as an option to remove neither - Antda 10 years ago
  • I'm having the same problem where Office 2010 does not appear to uninstall. I did use the admin customization tool to create an MSP in the update folder, but after deploying I see the following leftover:
