Uninstall a Minor Upgrade

Hello -

Does anybody know if a Minor Upgrade can be uninstalled such as to revert to the product as it was before the Minor Upgrade? If so, where is this documented? It's not in the SDK. :-(

A Minor Upgrade is a full MSI which retains upgrade and product code, unlike a patch which is not a full MSI, and unlike a Major Upgrade which is a different product and requires a full removal for backout.

So I'm not talking about a patch removal, I'm asking about Minor Upgrade backout. The SDK talks about patch removal, but does not mention Minor Upgrade removal. My environment is W2k PRO SP4 with Windows Installer 3.1

Thanks for your comments.

A "minor upgrade" can be an MSP or an MSI.

However, I think you'll find that only the MSP type can be removed.

I fear you are correct, I've certainly searched high and low to no avail.

Thank-you for commenting.
