Unble to choose drive in 'Out of Disc Space' dialog!!!

Hi,
I m using installshield 2008. When i install my appl. with less than 100 MB in C: Drive, the installer is popping up the 'Out of Disc Space' dialog with the list of available drives. But i am unable to choose the other drives, even though space is there in other drives. Only C: drive can be chosen.

But under General Information -> Product Properties -> INSTALLDIR is set to '[ProgramFilesFolder]<Appl. Name>\<Product Name>.

Is this the problem that the INSTALLDIR is set initially, that i m unable to select the other drives??

Can anyone pls help me with this.

Thanks.

how are you doing the installation, are you running silent /s /qb! because if u are you will probably get the error but you should not get a dialog box, if you are run in full mode (not silent) you should be able to pick another drive; is this your msi? because if you can't pick another drive letter went you do a full mode setup something is wrong with that msi or there is a condition.
please provide more information.

Windows Installer normally automatically selects the drive with the greatest amount of free disk space to install to UNLESS the ROOTDRIVE property is set in the MSI. See http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa371372(VS.85).aspx for details.

I m running the installation in Full mode only(without any switch). The 'out of disk space' dialog lists the available drives with columns like 'Disk Size', 'Available' and 'Required'. But the Required column of the other drives (except C:) D, E and F shows 0(zero) eventhough there is enough space available.

The dialog appears to be frozen(not allowing us to select other drives).

I have the snapshot of dialog box, but i m not sure how to paste it with this post.

I m confused with this behaviour. Pls help me out with this.

Thanks

Did you try setting ROOTDRIVE yet or not?

Yes. I created a property ROOTDRIVE and set it to 'C:' drive. But, i still the 'out of disk space' dialog appears frozen(unable to select other drives).
I also tried setting the ROOTDRIVE to 'D:' , in that case i cant select any drive other than 'D:' in out of space dialog.

OK, so, did you need to add the ROOTDRIVE property or was it there already? My suspicion is that it was there already. What happens with that property removed?

Yes. I added the 'ROOTDRIVE' property. After adding this property, the installer chooses the install location to that drive and checks for disk space. And if the disk space is less, out of space dialog appears with the same problem.

When i remove that property and try to install, the installed takes the default [INSTALLDIR] set within the application and proceeds with installation. If disk space is less, then out of disk space dialog is prompted.
