Unable to uninstall, modify, or repaie OpenScape Contact Center: error 25014

Hello

On a Windows 8.1 64 bit workstation, I have installed OpenScape Contact Center version V8 R2 (8.2.9.112)

This was installed using the standard installer (HiPath ProCenter Client.msi) version 8.2.8.111, then patched to version 8.2.9112. This is NOT an App-V installation.

I have previously installed the Client Desktop and Manager modules of this software. I would now like to modify the installation and install the System Monitor part of this software.

However, when I try to do this, I receive a message of 'Error 25014. installation operation failed. See the log file Hppcinstall.log created in your TEMP directory.

Hppcinstall.log shows the following

(OSCC 11:05:56:904) INFO: Feature "Client" state is 2
(OSCC 11:05:56:920) INFO: Feature "Manager" state is 2
(OSCC 11:05:56:935) INFO: Feature "ITMonitor" state is -1

The same error occurs if I try to uninstall or repair Openscape Contact Center. I have seen that someone else has reported issues when trying to patch this software is the following link

I have been unsuccessful using this advice. I am trying to modify or uninstall the software.

I would be grateful for any suggestions on this.

Can you uninstall it from a clean state? I would hope you could, and if not, why wasn't this tested before deployment???

You're in a pretty bad position if you're unable to remove the software as that is the last stop/chance to fix the machine. The next is a rebuild.

Anyway, as mentioned in the post, it's probably a bug in the authoring of the MSI.

Comments:
  • I would concentrate on getting the uninstall fix before attempting to patch. If you try and do both you have to many variables to consider.

Try uninstall it will full verbose logging and see what the log has to say about the issue. - rileyz 7 years ago

Thanks for the reply.

Yes I can uninstall it from a clean state, and have done so several times until some point a couple of months ago.
