Hi all, for those how have had a chance to play with the K3000, have you had any issues with adding administrators from LDAP to the K3000 virtual appliance?

I'm currently running a trial of the virtual applianace and have managed to set it all up, I can enroll my Iphone fine, and can log in with my LDAP credentials so I know the LDAP configuration is fine; but I just can't seem to import users from LDAP to assign them administrator level.

When I go to the administrators section, under K3000 settings, I type an LDAP user name, a splash windows appears for a couple of seconds with the word "loading..." and then it just dissapears, nothing happens after this, no users are loaded, and I can't see a list of users to select from.  Any asistance on this is much appreciated

There are a few known bugs with LDAP in the K3. Normally what you are experiencing can be fixed if you use the domain\username format for the LDAP Login account in the LDAP settings. LDAP lookup will also fail if the user has an image in their LDAP profile. This will be corrected in v1.1.

  • Thanks for the advice mpace, thats exactly what Kace support told me. In my case, I was indeed using LDAP login in this format CN=service_account,CN=Users,DC=company,DC=com which is what is suggested in the K3 admin doc. And I also happened to be using an image in my LDAP profile, this is for a trial we are currently running with Lync 2013. As soon as I made the changes suggested by Kace support (which are the same ones outlined by you as well) the problem went away.
It may be worth noting though, that having an image in the LDAP user profile does not matter for LDAP users who want to enroll their smart devices using their LDAP credentials, as this only affects adding users as administrators to the appliance.
