UltraEdit Enterprise x64 : This msi is bad

Hi,

I use msi to deploy UltraEdit and it works fine with the x86 version but with the x64 it fails.
If I do it in an interactive session, it works fine.
But I have to deploy 100 PC and can't open a session on each !
So I deploy with a schedule task running on startup.
And the installation starts and then hangs.

My schedule task is like that :
Run with highest privileges
Program : msiexec.exe
Arguments : -i C:\Configuration\Softs\ue_french_enterprise_64.msi  ALLUSERS=2 /qn /l*v C:\Outils\Exploit\Log\UEx64.log (create C:\Outils\Exploit\Log or chose an existing folder)
Use the followinguser account : Administrator (local account)
Choose : Run whether user is logged on or not

And file log (begin and end) is :
=== Verbose logging started: 05/09/2016  09:34:23  Build type: SHIP UNICODE 5.00.7601.00  Calling process: C:\windows\system32\msiexec.exe ===

I can send msi if wanted.

Could you help me to tell IDM Software where their msi is ... wrong.

Ludovic.

Hi,
sounds as if something is being executed (or run) as a CA in the immediate sequence, but is not run in the deferred...
This is usually the reason behind such things... do you have the "full" installation log?

Hi,

I Create the two logs :
One created when using interactive session (it works fine) :
        839 Kb : https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8mBhzpM6SLvQXVVMENRazdzdUk
The second when using a schedule task (it hangs) :
        139 Kb : https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8mBhzpM6SLvSUprVWRvUjlVWFE

Thank you for your help.

Ludovic.

  • Just as a thought, have you contacted ultraedit support. I know that they provided "extra" msi's for corporate environments where the installation and registration is very different then the normal single licenses... I'll have a look at the logs when I get the time tonight. - Pressanykey 7 years ago
    • Yes of course I did.
But their support are not very ...
I hope that with real informations they can change their msi ! - LudovicB 7 years ago
      • And I use the msi developed for enterprise.
Here is the folder with the msi : https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8mBhzpM6SLvT0lMSVF6U1NfVXM - LudovicB 7 years ago
