UAC prompt during repair
Hello everyone,
I have a package recaptured one, its having addvertised shortcuts as well.
my concept is that an msi should not give a uac prompt when self healing thru advertised shortcut.
however in this case it's prompting a UAC.
there is only one system file which is coming thru merge module.
n there are no such egistries.
plz suggest where shud i look to resolve this issue

Hi,
Try to change your UAC compatibility settings in Windows Installer options in the Installation Expert.

a) That's not much use if the OP isn't a Wise Package Studio user
b) It only caters for package creation. The OP wants to disable it for repair/self-healing, which I don't believe is possible: UAC is either on or off, period.
