Tracking Licenses

I'm trying to determine how to track licenses so I can report on installed vs licensed.

Here's an example:

I've set up an asset with type software assigned to a filter to group all applications with "Dragon NaturallySpeaking 9" in the title.

Next, I've set up assets with type license for each purchase of a license. I'm creating separate entries because I want to track the PO Nbr, Date, license key, etc.

But when I look at my license asset screen, it's not summarizing the licenses. So I see Dragon NatuallySpeaking listed once for every license, but each line has the same total for the number of installed copies.

Is this the proper way to do this or is there a better way?

There was a web session just this week about assets, and I asked about the same thing. There are several steps involving labeling, software assets and license assets. Check this out, about half way through.

That newer web session helps -- I followed the instructions from a webinar a few months early. The trick is to be sure to change the view to Software so it sums properly. I had been looking at license view which made the results look a little funny.
