To Repackage or not Repackage

Hey Guys,

I have an EXE installation that it looks like someone internally has created a self-extracting Zip which calls and batch file that uses utilities included with the zip then calls the installation of an MSI inside the zip. It works as it is, should I go through the effort of creating an MST? I realize this is rather subjective but what would you do?

LOL...I have a pretty good idea where that package came from. Priceless...

Now, as usual, if it's an MSI, irrespective of whether it's wrapped up or what'ts wrapped in, you would be advised to NOT re-package.

Shoul;d've changed the title.. was actually wondering if I should create an MST for the activity that is happening before teh MSI runs? Am I gaining anything in doing so?

I can't see any issue with including it either in your MST or a separate MSI.

I know that you don't know me from BlueAdam, but in my environment, I would get rid of the batch files and create a transform. Uniformity is next to supportability. [;)]
