Installation needs input and admin rights. Can it be repackaged?

Hi I am trying to work on the application named Toad for Oracle 11.5.1.

The issue is that when run thru sccm, it needs input but we are unable to move forward because it doesn’t have admin rights.  Can it be repackaged?

so is there really needed to repackage the application.

I appreciate your help.

thanks

How are you installing it through SCCM? I hope you are trying to install it through System account... When you install it thorugh system account I don't think so users need admin rights to proceed with the installation..

Rather than go down that road, I'd ask if there's a way to silently install it.  If the input is static, can you add it to the command line of the program?    If it's not, is it something that you can make static?

What input is it asking for?

I've packaged Toad before, and can't recall it asking for input or admin rights.

You can write a VBScript to take input from the user and pass it as a parameter while installation of MSI in commandline as a Public Property.

hi all the package has been done by another team but it came up to me because they are having problem installing it through SCCM 2012. from application catalog when they are trying to install it says you need admin rights to proceed further. So my question is if we have to repackage it again. ? i know that is very climsy work, or we have other way to solve the proble. please help me i am a fresher to this field.

  • Does Toad require you to target Users? If not, then you should target machines, and the installation should be performed in System context. - andemats 11 years ago
