System Search Property/Condition to not install if a newer product is found

Hi,

Here's my scenario, I want to install a particular version of a product v6 for example. I only want to install the product under a certain condition. The condition is that if v8 of the product is found installed on the machine I don't want v6 product to install. Is it possible to configure this condition in system search? What condition logic could I use to achieve this?

Thanks In Advance,
Cowley

have you looked at using the upgrade table? you wont need to worry about system searches then.

Using the upgrade table is not an option unfortunately.

Oh well.

Create a system search to locate the ARP reg keys for the app - HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{GUID}

Create a LaunchCondition based on the result
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
