Has any one successfully packaged SunGard Monis 9.00? I can’t get the version I packaged to launch, getting the following error: “This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect”. This error appears to be something to do with SxS stuff – even tho the SxS components appear to go down ok.

Monis is dependent on the Microsoft Visual C++ Redist 2005 and .NET 2.0 – both of which are installed.

Any bright ideas people?

SxS folder requires strongly named assemblies.

For example if the app calls

test.dll version 1.0

test.dll version 1.1 is present it will fail.

you need the exact version of dll required by the app to be present in the SxS folders.

this is usually identifiable via the manifest files which will also be in the folder. Also to successfully deploy in there you will need signed assemblies.

Run a Process Monitor to see what file and/or registry access the app is making. That'll tell you what's missing straight away.
