Strange Problem....

We have a few .MSI files all downloaded from Microsoft. When run manaully they all install fine. But, if you wrap them in a Wise Script or run them from a WinBatch script the following happens.

The software runs and creates a log file. The log file says it completed successfully yet there is nothing in the Add/Remove and the plug-in for this software does not show up in Outlook like it should.

What on earth would cause that type of behavior?

Presumably you ran the WiseScript/WinBatch [memories flooding back...] under the System account? What happens if you install the package stand-alone using the same account?

I am running it all standalone using my Admin account, that is what makes it so strange.

I tried something else that did work. In my WiseScript instead of doing a Execute Command and running %SYS32%\msiexec.exe I instead ran the Execute Command and called cmd.exe /c msiexec.exe etc....etc.... and that worked.

Very weird but at least I've got it working.

Thanks.
