SrvAny and InstSrv

Hi,

I'm using SRVANY and INSTSRV to install a service, and I set it to run automatically. On about 10% of my machines so far it doesn't start. All Windows 2000. When I open the services console, I see it's set to automatic. There is nothing in the event log new to my service.

The application that SRVANY is setup run is just a batch file. If I remotely or locally start the service, it runs my batch file without any problem.

Anyone have any suggestions or maybe run into this before?

Chris.

Does whatever method you're using to install the service HAVE Administrative rights?

Yes they did. The problem that it ended up being was that the account used to run the script didn't have LogonAsService rights on these machines. I'm not sure why sometimes it worked, but using NTRIGHTS.EXE to grant it before hand yeilded 100% success in all pushes since my original post in July.
