SMS 2K3 and AD

Hello people,

I dont know whether this is the right section to post this query but still trying. I am in process of doing pilot SMS 2003 implementation for specific departments in my organization.

I have Active Directory setup on Windows 2K server. After installing SMS 2003, eventually AD schema will get extended.
In future, if AD OS is upgraded to Windows 2003, will there be any problem related to SMS 2003 (schema related)? Will it upgrade smoothly? I need to justify this to my organisation as I will be touching the production domain server (AD) directly.

Also when we uninstall SMS 2003, will it remove all classes and accounts from Active directory as well?

Please reply as soon as possible.

Thanks and Regards,

Parry

The Schema will always be extended when installing SMS 2003 or even Exchange Server. So if it is recommended in a company that the schema should be in all sites the same but not all sites want to install SMS or Exchange you must make seperated Domains.
As I know, the schema will not be cleaned when you uninstall SMS Server. You also can not delete a class manually.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
