Sierra Wireless 3G Watcher

Want to know how to setup the install via an mst file, to be able to install the software with the option: North and South America, Asi, Africa or Australia already highlighted and ticked.

I can not seem to see where I would change a value to make this happen, or at least what the value should be.

under property there is an option called: Installchioce with the letters: AR but not sure if that would be the one to change?

Program details: 3G Watcher R2.0.0.3 Build 1437

Is this a choice you can make at installation time? You have a couple of choices, if you can't work out what property /feature selection is involved.

1. Use your authoring software to create the transform. Wise products use a tool called InstallTailor, in InstallShield you 'Launch Tuner'
2. Log the installation and note which properties/features have been changed/selected. To get a full log:
MSIEXEC /i [path_to_and_name_of_MSI] /l*v [path_to_and_name_of_log_file]

VBSCab means, I guess at least, that you should make a response transform. This transform will get all the properties from the msi UI installation choices and put those in your new mst file.

I am in Australia and not sure whether Telstra has played around with the MSI but I didnt need to make any changes to it, other than to do a straight MSI install:

msiexec /i \\server\share\3G_Watcher_Telstra.msi /qn /lv* C:\Logs\TelstraNextG_SierraWirelessCard_v1.9.3.1298_Install.log

If the software package is the same all over the world then is it possible that you dont need to select a region as they are enabled by default when doing an MSI install?

My software version is v1.9.3.1298.

Just my 2 cents but I hope it helped?

It'd be useful for one of you to post this information to the Package KB

Could i ask, how did you actually know to put that in? Was there somewhere that you were able to source that information from or is it just from prioer experience with other packages?

Cheers..
