shortcut arguments

hi,
if you create a advertised shortcut to an exe, and specify arguments through Wise, should you not be able to see those arguments once the shortcut is installed. at the moment i have no idea if the arguments installed correctly or not, how do you test the arguments?

Hi Frodo,

You won't see the arguments in an advertised shortcut.
Testing if the arguments are used is done in the same way as you should test a normal installation.
I guess you know how the program should behave with and without the parameters (intake phase).
If you don't; make a copy of your package without the parameters, install and see where the differences are.
Or ask someone who knows more about this program.

Hope this answers your question.

If you place an advertised shortcut to .exe file, you normally will not see any parameters once .msi installs it.
What you can do is specify command line instead (and not point to a file inside the package).
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
