SetupCapture after Restart

I using SetupCature to snapshot apps on VMWare, but if I need to restart the machine after the app installs, then SetupCapture falls over on Restart.

Is there a way to tell SetupCapture to run the second part of the snapshot only. As if I try to run SetupCapture again, it reruns the initial scan again.

Thanks Jo

I forgot to mention that Setup Capture is from Wise Package Studio version 5.6.

I have also found the command line to rerun the second scan
“\\WPS\Windows Installer Editor\WfWI.exe" /r2 /z2 "d:\UPA\upa.wsi"

But I still have the problem of the second scan won’t run and WFWI.exe falls over. Has anybody had this problem trying to snapshot on VMWare.

Run Wise from the host machine instead of installing it in the VMWare slice..
Execute the wfwi.exe from the host machine by sharing the file across VMWare.. I believe now it would solve your problem.
Hope it helps.

SLB, thanks for the response.

I’m running Wfwi.exe from a share on the network, not the local Vmware session.

Are you saying I should install Wise on the machine hosting the VMWare machines. And run it from there.

Sorry for the delay.. Yes install wise on your host machine then make a share drive so that you could access in your VMWare workstation and then try to start the capture.

Hope you would have tried this by now and got it working...[:D]
