I have an application written in C# that we are creating msi's using wix.

It seems that if we use InstallUtil.exe we run specific C# methods which exec a bunch of items we want to be run as part of service installation.

When we use the service control table's this stuff is not exec'd, does anyone know whether the service control table can be used to mimic functionality of installutil.exe

Of course I could create CA's to exec installutil.exe but I think i prefer to use the service control tables to install the service. Does anyone know of a way to mimic functionality of installutil.exe using service tables ?
worst case scenario we could move the service methods to another location and exec that manually as a CA.

John,

Sorry, I missed that you wanted the service to be installed using the InstallServices action.
