Scripts are running slow?

Currently this is our busy time, patching several hundred computers, while at the same time running managed installs, scripts, and doing some things manually.  I have noticed that our scripts seem to be taking a long time to run; nothing too complex in them, but they just seem to be taking their time.  This appears to be impacting both MACs and PCs.  Any thoughts or things I should look at?
