Saving TRANSFORM

I am trying to create a TRANSFORM on the vendor msi. I converted msi to .ism files in order to convert from thick to thin msi. Then created a TRANSFORMS and added a file. Now installshield created a cab file. I remember in wise i could check something under media section to keep the thin msi. Where is this setting in installshield not to create cab files?

I am trying to keep TRANSFORM uncompressed.

Thank you.

You should check the build options! As far as I remember one was able to check an options to compress you project in one single file.

Thanks for reply. In the current version i think you are referring to build/release wizard. But when mst is open, this option is disabled.

I'm pretty sure there's no need to convert your msi to an ism for the operation you're trying. Open the msi in Installshield, add the file in there. At the point when you add it you should get a dialog box asking wether to keep it uncompressed with souce or in a cab file. Your choice should be clear there :-)

Then do a File-> Save As and select to save as an .mst file.

I spoke with IIS support. In order to convert vendor msi to uncompressed. You have to convert it to IIS project and then change media to uncompress. Did not ask then regarding TRANSFORMS and can files :(
