sapssd file association

Hello!

Need help to understand if there is possible to get a file association .sapssd to work with App-V. There is a portal opening invoices in IE and the SAP GUI installation is making this work. But not as an file association in Windows but registry..

"..the .ssd file extension is NOT associated with the SAP Logon Application.
So we should associate the ".ssd" File Extension with the SAP FrontEnd Logon Application in the Registry Hive HKCR\.ssd\@="SapFront.App" in the following ways:
1. with the Registry (reg) command:
reg add "hkcr\.sapssd" /ve /t REG_SZ /d SapFront.App /f"
http://forums.sdn.sap.com/message.jspa?messageID=9046684#9046684

During monitoring all tests works out fine and opens up IE as supposed, but how to trigger the opening of the bubble??
Have tried associate the fileextention .sapssd to all applications in the bubble but no success.. Anyone have a tip on what parameters or how to be able to get this working?

SAP GUI 7.20 and AppV 4.6 on Win7.

Thnx! ;)
/Marie

Hello,

How does the file type association behave if the application is installed natively?

Hello!

There is not a Windows file association.
As the above forum post says the file association seems to be in registry only..

Behaviour when natively installed and during monitoring: I get an Internet Explorer Security popup asking to trust "...saplogon.exe" and if clicking allow the invoice is open in another IE window and as well SAP Logon application launches..

FYI! Got an answer on www.appvirtguru.com

I assume you are talking about those transaction view pages, right? As I remember, it is quite near impossible to get that sapssd thing to work through file assocations as SAP registers it through some other way (in regular install).

What we had to do at my client is to create IE shortcut for the SAP portal site (which launches these transactions, launching IE to the SAP bubble. This was only reliable way to handle the situation; not optimal, yes, but since the portal site is clearly a separate "application" this was acceptable for the user.

I encountered the same issue for the laptop for a specific user. It did not happen for other users.Apart from this I haven't had much luck with getting this working.Open windows explorer, choose tools->folder options->file types. and delete extention "sapssd". Then try again.

I have faced the same kind of problem. I tried fixing the problem in file association of windows explorer, but problem persists. There could be some another issue related to operating system, or with the firewall used in the system. I am also suspecting security related issue with the operating system.Still i am unable to find the answer. Please anyne who has the solution share it here. Thanks a lot in advance.

I assume you are talking about these transactions view pages, correct? I remember, it's a pretty is almost impossible to get a job through the file associations, such as SAP registered it in other ways is sapssd things. We had to do in my customer's SAP portals IE shortcut is created.
