Rollout DoubleCAD XT 5 in silent mode
Hi to everybody,
is there a chance to rollout DoubleCAD XT 5 in silent mode including the serial key and the activation key. The silent Installation is no problem, but every user have to register and to activate the software...

You need to check how the activation is done, if this is done via a licence server (as in it calls home) its almost impossible to activate when installing because of the way they have implemented it.
Anyway on with your problem.
Get RegShot and start the app and get it ready to licence. Take a RegShot, and then licence and activate the product, take another RegShot and let it do the compare. The differance will be the activated bit, this will only work if the actvation does not call "home"
Once you have the info on how the product is licenced, you can then make a new component with the licennce info, make a keypath for the compoment in the HKCU. If the shortcut for DoubleCAD XT 5 is not Advertised, make it Advertised - this will ensure that the HKCU will get populated when they first run it.

Hi Rileyz, tnx for your fast answer! I tried is with RegShot, but do not get a result which I can work with... A bunch of keys which were generated after the activation, but they do not make sense to me. I tried by deleting these keys in the reg but after that they were generated new and the software was running ok...
I also tried to use the same aktivation-key on different machines and it works. So there is also no communikation to a license-server... - M@rk 10 years ago -
Actavation, try to actavate with no LAN connection, this will confirm if you need to call "home".
Try and do a directory diff/compare after before and actavation, it could be a file somewhere in the program files. Though my gut feeling would be a reg key, but you never know.

Call "home" is negative. There is no connection needed. I tried it with a user with no rights. The activation was set after I gave the user permission to write in HKLM - thats what I thought. In the next step I deleted all keys but the software is still activated. - I'm close to give up... :o((( - M@rk 10 years ago
