Recompress AIP

I have an issue with Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2008. It comes as an exe. I extracted the msi and cab file. I created an AIP so I could recompress the cab file into the msi. I did not have any problem doing this with the 2005 version. The AIP is successfully created with files in different folders. However when I try to recompress using wimakcab.vbs it states that all the files are missing. It's looking for all the files at the root of the AIP instead of in their respective folders. This has me puzzled. Any ideas?

If I am not wrong I think the msi is looking for the following files in root directory of AIP but not for all the files.

eula.1028.txt
eula.1031.txt
eula.1033.txt
eula.1036.txt
eula.1040.txt
eula.1041.txt
eula.1042.txt
eula.2052.txt
eula.3082.txt
globdata.ini
install.exe
install.ini
install.res.1028.dll
install.res.1031.dll
install.res.1033.dll
install.res.1036.dll
install.res.1040.dll
install.res.1041.dll
install.res.1042.dll
install.res.2052.dll
install.res.3082.dll
VC_RED.cab
VC_RED.MSI
vcredist.bmp

These files can be removed form the msi before creating AIP.

It wasn't looking for any of the files you listed above. It was looking for all the other files to be at the root. I could not figure out what the deal was so I used msidb.exe to insert the cab internally. That's a much faster way. Then just mark in the media table that the cab is internal "#"
