RealPlayer 10.5 Gold issue

Hi All,

I am packaging RealPlayer10.5 Gold. Package functionality works fine. However, when I open the RealPlayer application(Original Source), it will connect to the internet and open the au.real.com webpage. But packaged(MSI) application does not open the webpage. Can anyone advice me where i am going wrong. I have a strong feel that this is somethingto do with registry settings? Please help.................

Thanks,

My mode of operation when re-packaging vendor setups is to ALWAYS:

- install my MSI
- run a lightweight snapshotter, as Rajit says
- run the vendor's installer over the top of my install
- START the application
- close the app
- Complete the snapshot

If anything got missed in the capture, this procedure will weed it out.

Hi,

Thanks for your quick response. I have figured out the issue and found that few ini files were doing some configuration stuff during runtime.. Once again thanks for all your time...

... which no doubt you will share with the rest of us by making an entry in AppDeploy's 'Package KB'?

Hi Pradeesh,

Use ProcMon or FileMon & RegMon and analyse what happens when the original source accesses the internet. If you think there is something to do with the registry use a light snapshot tool like Picture Taker or InCtrl and comapre the registry settings between the original source and your package.
