Proxy Host Removal

Hi,

We have just installed Landesk 8.7 and I am currently setting up packages. So please bear with me as this is completely new to me.

Now the problem I am having is removing Proxyhost 4.0 and 5.0 which was made by Funk Software. They don't supply an uninstaller program and I cannot see a way of running the original setup program with the uninstall switch.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

Are there any entries for Proxy Host in the Add/Remove programs applet (run from Control Panel) that allow for manual uninstallation ?

If so, as a starting point you can get at the underlying uninstall commands by looking in the registry at :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

and it's subkeys. You may need to do a bit of searching around, but with luck there will be something in there [;)]

Any you find in there will not usually be silent uninstallation commands, but then you can investigate what switches the commands will take to acheive this ... you can always repost here, if you are still stuck.

It could also be located in the installers HKCU registry hive. So if you didn't install it then maybe you could load any existing user registry hive (file) to see if the uninstall string exist.
