Problems with Domino Silent Install
Hello,
I'm trying to put together a package of Domino Document Manager v7 to be pushed to our staff. I'm hitting a wall with the silent installation. It refuses to install properly when i try to run it off the command line.
So far I have had to run the install manually, and copy the temp directory from %username%\Local Settings\Temp to use as the setup files, then run the setup.exe included in that folder with the /r switch so it will generate an answer file, setup.iss. Then icopy the setup.iss file to the same folder that setup.exe is/will be run from. So now if i run the command:
it will begin to run in the background, but then stops with no clue as to what happened, and the program is not installed. The log file doesn't show any errors. How do i know what's going on, and how can i make this install silently? I've tried contacting IBM about it, and they say they no longer support this software so i'm SOL there. I didn't make the decision to deploy old outdated software, i just need to deploy it ie. do my job.
Thanks in advance..

Try with /f2 option for the logfile and also enable the verbose logging option if it is msi it will create an msi log in the temp folder.
check the eventviewer also for any hints incase if the setup.exe is installing msi.
Instead of executing the setup.exe from windows temp(from the mentioned command) execute it from user temp.

Try with /f2 option for the logfileAnswer:
The log file doesn't show any errors
Next,
execute it from user temp. What earthly difference would that make?!?
@Stephen, don't waste your life trying to get this to work (or to get worthwhile information from IBM). Re-package it. If you don't have Wise or InstallShield, try the (free!) AppDeploy Repackager.
