Problem when saving msi with orca

When I save an msi with cabs inside , then the saved result is much smalller that the initial msi I modified. I supose this has something to do with the internal cabs ?

Of course you will have kept a copy of the original? You can install the original, obliterate the 'Uninstall' registry key (to avoid the 'Modify/Repair/Remove' dialog), then run a lightweight snapshot tool to get a 'Before' snapshot. Next, install your edited package and then take an 'After' snapshot. If the MSI is broken, you'll soon know. Or, it might be quicker to peform an admin install of both (to different locations, obviously) and compare the results.

Go to Tools/Options...
Open 'Database'
Enable 'Copy embedded streams during 'Save As'.'

This should do the trick.

Hope this helps.
