Problem Deploying VS 2005 with Altiris

I use the microsoft method to deploy Visual Studio 2005 via an answer file. I push the software through Altiris & it will work fine on a "clean" machine. Visual Studio 2005 will not install on a machine that has the 2003 version already installed. Altiris will report that the installation was successful, but it is not actually installed on the machine. Anybody know the solution to this?

What does your Altiris job consist of? Is it a DS job running a "copy file to...", "run script...", or "distribute software" or a combination of these? I can probably answer your question if you can get me more info.
