Preinstallation Tasks for Users Data

I did a few searches and could not find anything.

Any ideas on good scripts for pulling users data before deploying a Windows 7 upgrade to XP/Vista machines.
I need to pull things like documents, favorites, pictures, etc.

Thanks for any help, I honestly didn't even know where to start.
