OTG Install

Has anyone given this a try?  Seems like an inexpensive and simple solution that could be used in conjuction with Kace.

No, have you?  The web site is lacking.

  • No, I haven't.. I wanted to see if anyone else has as it looks interesting. You're right about the site.. it's quite small. Judging by their "About" page it seems likely to be a 2 or 3 man operation. Regardless, I've sent an email to see if they have a trial available. - dc5 11 years ago
  • Did not want to sound negative but these sites come and go all the time.
If they are any good they should give you at least a 30 day fully working demo. Usually the problem with these small vendors is they cannot keep up with the massive changes needed when new versions and upgrades come out - SMal.tmcc 11 years ago

I guess I'm confused as to why I'd pay another 250$ for something that Kace already does.

    • My paranoia says yes, but I guess I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. - Ben M 11 years ago
  • also will they be around in 5 years? - SMal.tmcc 11 years ago
    • also, have they been around for 5 weeks? - Ben M 11 years ago
  • Ben M - for the first question.. I see a simple icon on the desktop of my end users that they can click on to update any of our "standard" software instead of logging into the K1000 software portal or making a work order. It looks like the software should be installed immediately, not "soon" like with the K1000.

(and no, I'm not a sales guy for this group / company!)

Some googling suggests they've been around since 2005 doing PC repair, but who knows if they'll be around in 5 years like was asked. They're certainly not a Dell or Microsoft in size or stature! - dc5 11 years ago
  • sorry dc5 for the sales comment, but this is the first question asked/answered by you, This is a common practice of sales on forums, act like a tech and suggeest software from their web site. And the info on this company is vague. - SMal.tmcc 11 years ago
  • All good! I certainly understand your concern! I emailed and have received a trial version from them.. will be giving it a spin over the next few days on a few test PC's! - dc5 11 years ago
  • Post a blog and let us know what the results are. - SMal.tmcc 11 years ago
