Hi All,

I am working on the above for a client that wants it put on a laptop build. I am trying to get it so that when they run Outlook that it will go straight in and not present them with any wizard or interaction. Obviously they will have to set up their mail address etc but I dont want them to be prompted for anything. I have used the Office Resource Kit and added the clients custom .prf file but still get the problem. The problem I am having is that when a new user logs and runs outlook the setup wizard pops up and asks to configure Outlook. Any ideas would be appreciated? Cheers

So have you captured that part of the setup, to see what it's actually doing? My guess is that it's adding to or changing elements of CUSTOM.PRF and/or the registry. Is CUSTOM.PRF still in INI-style format like it was for Office 2K?

Hi VBScab

Yes it is still in INI style format. I captured the registry that was being changed and added it to the package but that stopped the package from installing altogether somehow! I will have a look at the .prf file and see if anything is happening there. Thanks for the suggestion

using ORK you can configure the entire mail setup without using the PRF files.

are you using exchange or pop setups ?
