NOKIA PC Suite 7.1.40.6

Hi All,

I got this application deployed successfully with updates turned off and other customisations as per our clients requirements. But was wondering if there is a way not to launch the application as soon as it is installed.

Any thoughts are appreicated,
Regards,
Ram.

Do I recall that PC Suite is installed via an MSI, albeit possibly an MSI folded into an EXE? If so, it should be a simple matter of finding the Custom Action which launches the EXE and commenting it out, via a transform.

Hi,

Yes this app is installed through bunch of vendor MSI's. But the setting are sitting under APPDATA folder as an XML. BUt this wont have any impact during the install, it still comes up with the cable connectivity window.

Hi Yes I think this works:

To extract run Nokia_PC_Suite_swe_web.exe /unpack
Install the apps in this order
1) VC80X86 (-Visual C++ runtime library )
2) CCD (Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver)
3) PCCS (PC Connectivity Solution)
4) PC-Suite

Properties to add to the mst
DISABLEWU=1 (Disablar Update)
UNINSTALLICON=0 (No remove shortcut)
DESKTOPICON=0 (No Dekstop ikon)
EXTUI=1 (Do not start PCSuite at installation)

Hope this helps?

hi ram

if I remember i did the version 6.8 ages ago

you will need to install the suite of the msi's in a particular order

have a look at the package kb for versions 6 and 7

and there is also an admin guide with the the switches that you need
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
