I would like to do 2 installations profiles for Nero 9 : a basic installation (only burn) and a multimedia installation (burn with audio/video component).

Some are using the property REMOVEAPP="unit_app_x" to remove any components they don't want but it doesn't work.

Here my test :
(Full install - Works without any problem)
setupx.exe /i /qb SERIALNUMBER="%SERIAL%" EULAACCEPTED="1" DESKTOP_SHORTCUT="0" REBOOT="0" INCLANGUAGES="ENG,FRA"

I try this command line with REMOVEAPP= (as describe at http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=124278&st=20&p=823602&)
Setupx.exe /i /q SERIALNUMBER="XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX" EULAACCEPTED="1" REMOVEAPP="unit_app_1, unit_app_5, unit_app_6, unit_app_10, unit_app_12, unit_app_13, unit_app_14, unit_app_15, unit_app_16, unit_app_17, unit_app_19, unit_app_20, unit_app_21, unit_app_22, unit_app_50, unit_app_57, unit_app_64, unit_app_65, unit_app_66, unit_app_67, unit_app_68, unit_app_71, unit_app_74, unit_app_75" DESKTOP_SHORTCUT="0" REBOOT="0" INCLANGUAGES="ENG,FRA"

The process Setupx.exe end after 3-5 seconds and nothing happen. I even try to remove only 1 component (unit_app_75) and same result.

Any got the REMOVEAPP working ?

is there an msi inside the setup? if so, you could crack it open and determine if the ADDLOCAL command (to control features) could be used at the command line. Try to get a verbose log as well and you can see where your command is failing.

No, it's a setup using a setup.xml and 35 folders for each Nero feature containing cabs and .msi (all of them are named unit.msi).

Edit: Also, I try to install all the .msi individually (I remove the LaunchCondition) but the shortcut are missing and I have error message when I execute an application.

Darkfang - as I advised here: http://itninja.com/question/gnu,-freeware-and-shareware-programs-to-cloning5646&mpage=1&key=믊 I hope you've downloaded the latest source. This fixed my problems, and also the OP in this link....there's a chance it will save you a HUGE headache. It's certainly worth a try.....

I had the same issue, however when I luanch it manualy and got the serial number screen it did not like the serial number I put in the xml file. It wanted it in upper case. After that the silent install worked great.
