What are the number of files and registry entries on the file you are working on?

what could be the problemYour lack of patience? :)

I revert to IS when Wise chokes on capturing bigger applications but it too can seemingly be hung. I have memorably had to leave one compilation to complete overnight. It did it eventually.

In all cases, once I have an MSI, Wise is more than able to cope with it. I think it's an issue with SetupCapture but, as a freelancer, I don't normally have the time to investigate thoroughly. I just reach for IS and use that.

Hi,

I assume you are using the Repackager to create the ism from the irp file. What happens if you select to build the MSI in the Repackaged Output section, does it create the MSI with the files you expect or is that too empty?

It will probably the extraction of the COM information from the DLLs which is taking the time. Be patient! :)

Wait for 30 min - 1 hr without doing anything on system but except running the irp This should work fine

Are the files local to your machine or are they on a network share?
Are you selecting the "build MSI" option in the Repackager needlessly?
