Matlab 7

Hi,
I have to package Matlab application. the issue is the Users have different licenses on the basis of thier requirements and the application should be packaged in a way that by passing some commandline argument the users get only which feature they want.

will it be a good idea to package the Base MSI first and then i will create transforms on this base MSI with extra features ?
the other solution i can think out is to find out the extra files\registries getting installed and then move to some newly created feature and these features can be managed by ADDLOCAL property ...

any other solutions or any help in this regard is appreciated.
thanks

hi, i packaged mine using the setup.ini file to do noninteractive installation.
i thought all lincenses resides on the license server. Lincenses are in license.dat file.

Doesn't Matlab use FlexLM licensing? You can just request a license file that contains those users MAC addresses -- then the features will only be available to the machines that are approved via the license. You may want to look into this.

Thanks for your inputs.
Can you please provide some more details? I have only been given the setup file and i have been asked to package in a way so that features should be installed on the basis of some User inputs... I have planned to make one Base MSI and then will make Transforms having the extra features one by one.

INI file idea is also good but i want the application to go to the conflict database and silent install of the setup wont work in this case.

thanks,
