managing acrobat 8 updates

hi all,

for acrobat/reader 7 i was enjoying patching my admin installs with msp's. but it seems now with 8 adobe have moved away from this functionality and are just employing msi's that upgrade existing versions. just wanted to confirm this is the case so i can move away from admin installs for this product.

thanks.

Adobe was still supplying incremental MSP files the last I checked which was probably around March/April 2008.

I created an Acrobat Professional 8.0 admin install point, and then applied 8.1 patch, 8.1.1 patch, and 8.1.2 patch. I ran into some seemingly unique problems that took me some time to fix. Check out this message thread....

thanks mate.

the latest security update for 8.1.2 just released a couple days ago seems to be only available as an msi. this makes me nervous because if adobe decide to ditch using msp's halfway through a particular version, how do you do future updates?

this occured going from 7.0.9 to 7.1.0
