Software Deployment

I've created a package to uninstall flash 7 and then install flash 8. Everything works fine but it seems that the install is not complete. The files are present, the registry contains the info in the Uninstall key, and if I browse to macromedia's web site to check the install it returns that it is loaded. However when look in Add/Remove programs it is not listed and if I try to uninstall it with the uninstall string in the registry I receive "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed."?????
