K2000 upgrade to 3.4.63129 removed WIM capture?

I had the "official" KACE workaround for capturing WIM images for the longest time, and I updated our K2000 to version 3.4.63129 last week because our box said it had an update that fixed security issues...but now when I boot into the K2000 KBE, there is no capture WIM button.

Any idea what happened? Is there a simple solution to get this back?

Re-apply the bin file included in KNIT: http://www.kace.com/de/support/resources/kb/article/kace-native-imaging-toolkit-for-k2000-v-3-4-only

Comments:
  • This should be the last time you apply the .bin. Do not apply this .bin after updating to 3.5 when it is released!

    • Is it built into 3.5? when is 3.5 coming out? - SMal.tmcc 11 years ago
      • Yes, it will be integrated into 3.5. Look for it soon! - mpace 11 years ago
  • Thanks, mpace - this fixed it for me.

Corey - any ETA on 3.5? Can't wait for the awesome list of features coming. Also, I believe I asked you this at Konference in your advanced K2000 class, but will there be a way to "copy" the current WIM's to the native built in WIM in 3.5 other than deploying it, and recapturing? Or will there be documentation explaining all of this when released? - sfigg 11 years ago

Same happened here, I keep the knit.zip on my tech machine, updates seem to always kill it.

as mpace stated reapply wimcap_addon.21006php.bin from the knit

  • In case someone might have missed Corey's comment above: DO NOT APPLY THE BIN AFTER 3.5. - mpace 11 years ago
