Why is my K2000 Deployment is Failing?

I am using the K2000 to deploy Windows 7 to my environment.  Created a Gold image and have used it successfully on approximately 30 clients.  All hardware is Dell.  The image failed on two Latitude XT tablets.  I can see where the system attempted to retry 4 times and showed error "C [err = 1392]"  On the file attempted, the error is "Deploying image failed:  the file or directory is courrpted..."

Both tablets were in working condition when image was deployed.  Image was deployed successfully to this same model only an hour so before the failed deployments.  The image was also successfully deployed to multiple other PCs after failing on the tablets.

Any assistance is welcome and appreciated.

  • are you wiping the hard drive as a preinstall task? - SMal.tmcc 10 years ago
  • Yes. Pre install task include, in this order "Create Single Partition", then "Format C: as NTFS". I'm using the same image on multiple computers and it is only failing on a few tablets. - ckrenz 10 years ago
  • Are you using WIM image format? Also try to deploy image just to one of the tablets, let us know. I had instances were the image failed to deploy and it turn out it was the hard drive, but in your case I don't think is the hard drive since the tablets have SSD. - josefino 10 years ago
