K1000 Security Dell Updates - BIOS Causing computers to freeze during install attempt

We have Dell Precision 5510 and Dell Latitude 3379 models. Both when performing the BIOS upgrade will cause the system to freeze and lock up completely. Running the BIOS installer manually does the same thing, unless you run it as an administrator.
Is there a way to have KACE run the installer as an administrator so that it will install the BIOS update?

  • "Running the BIOS installer manually does the same thing, "

Might be something related to the .EXE file itself?

Try to download the installs from support.dell.com, and create a Script to install them using admin credentials.

I don't think DELL Updates is going to help here since it's an automatic patching process - Channeler 6 years ago
  • Thank you. Support said to do the same thing too once they responded. I'm new to using the KACE appliance and haven't done much scripting. I set it up how we were taught in the initial training and the script 'successfully completes' but never does anything on the computer. I just haven't had a moment to try and research it any more. - cgsao 6 years ago
