K1000 - Not detecting missing patches

Despite downloading patches and running detection, no missing patches are listed in machine details and PATCHLINK_MACHINE_STATUS is empty. I am running 5.5.90547.

I have done the following

  • In Subscription Settings, I selected relevant OSes, checked "Security Patches", and checked "Activate New Patches."
  • In Patch Settings, downloaded "all subscribed patches" and waited for the download to complete.
  • Ran a patch schedule. Patch Action: Detect, Run on All Machines, Detect All Patches, Save and Run Now
  • Monitored schedule status. Phase: completed, Patched: 0, Not Patched: 0, Detect Failures: 0.

How can I make further progress on this issue?

Thank you!

Patches were not set to activate when downloaded. I had to activate patches explicitly in Patch Listing and then updated my Patch Subscription settings to "Activate New Patches".

Have you installed the hot fix for patching: http://www.kace.com/support/resources/news/k1000-55-consolidated-hot-fix-for-patching-is-now-available

I had the same problem as you did and tried the same troubleshooting steps.  The hotfix fixed it for me.

Comments:
  • That is for appliances of versions 5.5.90545 or 5.5.90546. I am at 5.5.90547. Thank you though! - Abouldis1972 10 years ago
    • The hotfix Thomas linked also fixed my issues of not detecting (went from handshake to completed). However, I also needed to restart even though the hotfix said it wasn't required as support found some services for patching were not running properly.

You should probably check with support to see if you can apply it to 5.5.90547 if you have not done so previously. - erush 10 years ago
      • I contacted support about this because I was having some issues with Patching and there is no patch for 5.5.90547 out yet. They said they are working on getting all the patches re-released to work with 90547 and it should be resolved shortly. - glennvelsol 10 years ago
