JAVA updates via KACE patching

Hi

Is it safe to deploy JAVA updates to machines via KACE patching ?


I see many use MI or scripting to deploy JAVA updates , also I have noted few times when i deploy JAVA updates on test machines, after updates I no longer see JAVA 
in  programs and features

  • We stopped updating JAVA via patching for several reasons. the primary one is not all our applications could support the latest versions of JAVA when they were released. Other reasons are cleanup of old versions (when needed) and settings. We started to create Managed Distributions for each version of JAVA so that when a location needed a specific version, we can just apply the label to them for it to install. We added several switches to our installation line for silent install, prevent auto updates, strip old versions away, etc. Here is the switches we use if it is helpful:
