Java

Hello,

We have a base build Windows 2000 workstation sp4 with some applications installed on 30% of our workstations. There is also a Java version 1.5 installed in this base package.

Now, We need to distribute the older version of Java 1.4.2.08 MSI package to all computers by active Directory. When I install this Java version 1.4.2.08 to the computers where the java 1.5 is installed in the base image, The java version stays version 1.5 and the version 1.4.2.08 is just in the directory c:\program files\java. Including the new version.

How can I before installing the older Java version 1.4.2.08 remove the newer version of java 1.5?
I can't remove the Java 1.5 package by active directory as the java 1.5 package is in the base build.

On all other base builds with no sun java installed. all goes fine.

Can you please help?

BTW, I'm using admin studio 6.0 professional. WIndows 2000 workstation with Active directory software deployment.

Thanks
