I used AppEditor - a freebie at the time from Camwood - using Wise Package Studio to create the Transform caused issues (three months later when the application stated it was no longer valid)

that is because after applying the transform, the license details in registry(initially in msi it is insert via a property defined in properties table) becomes null.

And why would the transform null a property in its parent MSI unless that property were explictly set to null in the transform?

Very strange behaviour
I'm trying to recall the Property - Product something
I don't know - it was a while ago
Wise writes the Property by default - then during installation the pertinant reg key gets written as null
