    • i want to know if we have selected any file in MI setting.

      • Uploading a file there actually replaces the file uploaded to the software inventory item. This data is not tracked as part of the MI as far as I can tell from looking at the MI table in the database. - chucksteel 9 years ago
  • I couldn't test it on my test machine. Thanks . Now i have verified , File uploaded on the MI get updated on the Software. - rock_star 9 years ago

you would have to create a custom CIR that does a reg query on the hklm\software\Microsoft\windows\currentveriosn\uninstall and all its subfolders for the key "installlocation".  If it was installed by an MI the path will be c:\programdata\dell\kace....
