Is there a way to get an email alert when a computer comes online?

I'm watching for a specific computername to be started up by someone (anyone) and would like to get an email alert whenever the computer comes up . . .

  • I'd like to know how to do this as well. The system I'm interested in getting notified about has LogMeIn and UltraVNC installed on it. We have a K1000 on our work network. The computer is a laptop so it might not always be on the network managed with the KACE appliance. A similar question was posted on the LogMeIn forums 4 years ago but there is still no answer. - geektitude 8 years ago

There are vbscripts that can send out e-mails.  You could write that and put it in the run key of hklm.  Kludgy, but it would work.

What tools do you have at your disposal? If you are using a K1000, please specify that and tag your question with "K1000" as this is an open community for discussing any products or technologies.
